My husband and I just completed the ASA 101 Basic Keelboat Sailing Certification with Audrey! We had a WONDERFUL time and learned a ton! Audrey is a highly skilled and knowledgeable instructor and a masterful sailor. We are 100% satisfied with our experience and this sailing school. Great value!

I wish I could leave 10 stars, my class with Mike at Barnegat Bay Sailing School was truly excellent. My father-in-law and I I took the ASA 103 class with Mike and were beyond satisfied with the entire experience. We had taken the 101 class at a different school and the difference in quality of the instruction and overall experience was tremendous. Mike’s sailing skill and experience is immediately obvious, but the real difference is his skill and diligence as an educator. He takes care that you leave the class with all the knowledge he can give you in the time you have and carefully addressees any questions or gaps in your knowledge. I have a sneaking suspicion that I left the class with a greater understanding of sail trim than I would have gained in any comparable course, all thanks to Mike. Although this school does not offer any ASA courses beyond the 103, there are other ways to schedule sailing time with Mike to gain additional experience and refresh your skills. As in the beginning of my post, a truly excellent class and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to learn how to sail or increase their knowledge with a master teacher.

I got a Basic Keelboat Cert. from another school back in 2005, but haven’t sailed since then. When, through a Amazon Local Deal, an Intro to Sailing from Barnegat Bay Sailing School became available this Spring, I thought it would be a good way to refresh the ton of stuff that I surely forgot.

Capt. Mike took the four of us out always explaining, as we got underway, the various parts of the boat and their purpose and involving all in brief lessons in some basic knot tying. We got under way steering with handy pre-printed cards as visual aids. The weather was superb and we all took turns at the Helm, Jib and Main sail positions in rotation. Judging by the smiles, I think everyone enjoyed themselves.

Capt. Mike and his wife Audrey, who also instructs, inspire trust on the water implicitly. Will definitely be back next season for additional courses and rentals. Can’t Wait !!

what a beautiful way to spend an afternoon. Captain Mike/Audrey welcomed us before our cruise and helped us with our belongings. We were looking forward to leaving the 97 degree weather behind on the dock. As we left the dock, Captain Mike talked to us about the boat and what we could expect on our cruise. He was very friendly and informative about the area and sailing. The experience was beyond our expectations. We felt safe on the boat and had a relaxing blast. We enjoyed being able to sail the boat and sit on the bow and feel the water through our toes. If you are considering this cruise it is so worth the drive from LBI!!!!!

My gf’s family and I went on the 2.5 hr cruise Saturday the 20th of August. The entire experience was wonderful. Everything from the bathrooms to the marina itself were extremely well kept. We were given a choice of which boat we wanted to sail on and chose the 30ft margarita(which seemed to be the common choice). Being the first time on a sailboat I had no idea what to expect. To put it simply, it far exceeded my, and everyone elses, expectations. Comfortably fit the six of us and the captain. The captain was not only informative of our surroundings but the entire workings of the boat and sailing itself. The captain allowed us to choose how involved in the sailing process we would be. In order to get the most out of the experience we participated fully and it was terrific (and so was our Captain)!. Feeling welcome was a clear understatement as we left shore and that feeling remained until we left the marina to go home. The trip was just over 2.5 hrs and was both relaxing and exciting as we got to participate in working the sail, navigating, and driving under his supervision. I plan on taking my family in the coming weeks on the same type of half relaxing half interactive cruise that we enjoyed. I may even surprise the Gf with one of their sunset cruises! For the time, cost, and fun factor its an unbeatable boating experience imo. This was far from my first time on the water, but was my first sailing experience, however it will be the first of many to come. All in all it was one of the best outings choosen for a nice sunny day I’ve ever had the pleasure of attending.
